Director of Clinical Operations (m/f/d) EMEA
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who drives and optimizes clinical trial operations across the EMEA region, ensuring seamless execution, regulatory excellence, and impactful outcomes. With a passion for innovation and collaboration, they build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, shape clinical strategies, and contribute to advancing life-saving cardiac therapies
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
- Oversee and execute clinical trial operations, including investigator identification, site recruitment, enrollment management, and site monitoring
- Develop and manage the EMEA clinical budget and headcount, ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals
- Collaborate closely with finance teams to track research study costs, budgets, contracts, and forecasts
- Work alongside the Director of Global Clinical Operations to monitor subject and site enrollment, mitigating any deviations from strategic plans
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clinicians, creating a network of clinical champions to support research initiatives
- Manage clinical activity in collaboration with Medical and Scientific Affairs teams, ensuring efficient study initiation and regulatory compliance
- Oversee publication strategies, selecting key clinical interest targets and coordinating physician authorship
- Provide education and training to clinical center personnel and sales representatives on study protocols, processes, and applications
- Maintain a high level of clinical expertise, staying up to date with industry trends and emerging cardiology treatments
- Supervise a team of Clinical Research Associates across EMEA, providing leadership and mentorship
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance, regulatory standards, and data privacy requirements in all research activities
Your qualification:
- Master’s Degree in a scientific field (Doctorate preferred)
- Extensive experience in the cardiology medical device or pharmaceutical industry
- Strong clinical background with a deep understanding of cardiology therapies and trends
- Proven expertise in business concepts, regulatory procedures, and clinical research best practices
- Exceptional communication skills, comfortable engaging with clinicians, executives, and cross-functional teams
- Strong project management skills, with experience handling complex challenges and multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Strategic thinker with the ability to interpret and present clinical data effectively
- Leadership experience in managing teams and driving high-visibility projects
- Fluent in German and English
- 30% travel across the EMEA region
